RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MUNICIPAL MAYOR, HON. JERWIN S. DIMAPILIS, TO ENTER INTO AND SIGN, FOR AND IN BEHALF OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF ROXAS, ORIENTAL MINDORO, A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH PHILIPPINE STATISTICS AUTHORITY (PSA) FOR THE RENEWAL AND CONTINUED IMPLEMENTATION OF THE BIRTH REGISTRATION ASSISTANCE PROJECT

WHEREAS, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), as the primary statistical agency of the government responsible for civil registration and vital statistics, continues to promote the registration of vital events, particularly the birth registration of individuals whose births have not been registered or whose records require appropriate registration assistance;

WHEREAS, the Birth Registration Assistance Project aims to assist eligible unregistered individuals in securing the proper registration of their births, thereby promoting universal birth registration and ensuring that no person is deprived of legal identity due to the absence of a birth certificate;

WHEREAS, the continued implementation of the Birth Registration Assistance Project in the Municipality of Roxas is essential in addressing the needs of residents who encounter difficulties in completing the requirements for birth registration, particularly those belonging to disadvantaged and underserved sectors of the community;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 444 (b)(1)(vi) of Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, the Municipal Mayor, as Chief Executive, shall represent the Municipality in all its business transactions and sign on its behalf all bonds, contracts, and obligations upon prior authorization by the Sangguniang Bayan;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Christopher Y. Carvajal duly seconded by Councilor Robert A. Baticos –

BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to authorize Hon. Jerwin S. Dimapilis, Municipal Mayor, to enter into and sign, for and in behalf of the Municipal Government of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) for the renewal and continued implementation of the Birth Registration Assistance Project.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be furnished to the Office of the Municipal Mayor, the Philippine Statistics Authority, and other concerned offices for their information, guidance, and appropriate action.
