An Act Converting Lagangilang National Agricultural School in the Municipality of Lagangilang, Province of Abra, into a College, to be Known as Lagangilang Agricultural College, and Authorizing the Appropriation of Funds Therefor

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1. Lagangilang National Agricultural School in the Municipality of Lagangilang, Province of Abra, is hereby converted into a college to be known as Lagangilang Agricultural College.

Section 2. Lagangilang Agricultural College shall offer, in addition to the secondary agricultural curriculum, any or all of the following collegiate courses at the discretion of the Director of Vocational Education:

Section 3. Lagangilang Agricultural College shall be headed by a Superintendent of Agricultural Instruction and shall be under the Bureau of Vocational Education. The Superintendent shall have direct administration and supervision over all the other agricultural schools in the Province of Abra under the Bureau of Vocational Education.

Section 4. The Secretary of Education is hereby empowered to recognize said school accordingly.

Section 5. The sum of four hundred thousand pesos is hereby authorized to be appropriated, out of any funds in the National Treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the conversion, operation and maintenance of the said college, in addition to the present national appropriation of Lagangilang National Agricultural School for the fiscal year nineteen hundred sixty-seven: Provided, That one hundred thousand pesos thereof shall be used for fellowships and scholarship grants and exchanges for members of the faculty, and scholarships to students in exceptionally meritorious cases. Thereafter, the necessary sum for its maintenance and operation shall be included in the annual General Appropriations Act.

Section 6. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
