An Act Amending Republic Act Numbered Forty-One Hundred Fifty-Three by Standardizing the Salaries of Officials in the Bureau of Public Highways

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippine Congress Assembled:

Section 1. Section one of Republic Act Numbered Forty-one hundred fifty-three is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 2. Section two of the same Act is hereby amended to read as follows:

Section 3. The incumbents of the positions whose salaries are herein standardized shall automatically be entitled to the benefits hereof without the need of another appointment.

Section 4. All Acts, executive order, administrative orders, proclamations, rules and regulations, or parts thereof, inconsistent with this Act are hereby repealed or amended accordingly.

Section 5. This Act shall take effect on July first, nineteen hundred sixty-seven.

"Sec. 1. Any existing law to the contrary notwithstanding, salaries of the following positions in the Bureau of Public Highways are hereby fixed as follows:

"Sec. 2. In order to carry out the provisions of this Act for the fiscal year ending June thirty, nineteen hundred sixty-eight, the Commissioner of Public Highways, with the approval of the Commissioner of the Budget, is hereby authorized to charge the salary differentials of the officials whose salaries are herein standardized against the appropriations for "Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses" under the General Appropriations Act for the fiscal year nineteen hundred sixty-eight, for the Bureau of Public Highways."
