RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE MUNICIPAL PEOPLE’S COUNCIL (MPC), UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF MR. JERRYLON PANAL, PRESIDENT, AS THE AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE OF THE PEOPLE’S COUNCIL IN VARIOUS GOVERNMENT INITIATIVES, PROGRAMS, PROJECTS, AND ACTIVITIES

WHEREAS, the Local Government Code of 1991 (Republic Act No. 7160) recognizes the important role of people’s and non-governmental organizations in promoting the welfare of the community and provides mechanisms for their participation in local governance;

WHEREAS, the Municipal People’s Council (MPC) of the Municipality of Roxas is an organized body representing various people’s organizations, non-government organizations, civil society organizations, and other community-based organizations, established to provide a mechanism for meaningful participation of the people in local governance and development;

WHEREAS, the Municipal People’s Council serves as a vital link between the people and the Municipal Government of Roxas by providing a venue for consultation, coordination, dialogue, and participation in matters affecting the community;

WHEREAS, the Municipal People’s Council is presently under the leadership of Mr. Jerrylon Panal, President, who serves as the duly designated head and representative of the Council in its dealings, coordination, consultations, and participation in various government undertakings;

WHEREAS, there is a need to formally recognize the Municipal People’s Council, under the leadership of Mr. Jerrylon Panal, as the duly authorized representative of the Council in various government initiatives, programs, projects, activities, consultations, meetings, and other related undertakings;

WHEREAS, such recognition will strengthen coordination and collaboration between the Municipal People’s Council and the Municipal Government of Roxas, and will promote greater participation of civil society and people’s organizations in local development and governance;

WHEREAS, the Sangguniang Bayan recognizes the valuable contribution of the Municipal People’s Council in advancing participatory, transparent, accountable, and inclusive local governance;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Gualberto V. Magno duly seconded by Councilor King Philip B. Dimapilis –

BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, that the Municipal People’s Council, through its President, Mr. Jerrylon Panal, shall be recognized as the official representative of the Council in meetings, consultations, conferences, dialogues, coordination activities, technical discussions, and other government-sponsored or government-supported initiatives, programs, projects, and activities where the participation or representation of the Council is necessary or appropriate.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be furnished to the Municipal People’s Council, through its President, Mr. Jerrylon Panal; the Office of the Municipal Mayor; and other concerned offices and agencies for their information, guidance, and appropriate action.
