RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HON. JERWIN S. DIMAPILIS, MUNICIPAL MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AND SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT (MOA) WITH THE PANGULONG FISHWORKERS ASSOCIATION (PFA) FOR THE GRANT OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AMOUNTING TO FIFTY THOUSAND PESOS (P50,000.00) INTENDED FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY FISHING GEAR AND OTHER PARAPHERNALIA STORE AT SITIO DALAHICAN, ROXAS, ORIENTAL MINDORO

WHEREAS, the Municipal Government of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, recognizes the importance of supporting the livelihood and economic activities of local fisherfolk and promoting programs that will contribute to the improvement of their socio-economic well-being;

WHEREAS, the Pangulong Fishworkers Association (PFA) is an organization composed of local fisherfolk whose members depend primarily on fishing and related activities as a source of livelihood;

WHEREAS, the PFA has requested financial assistance from the Municipal Government of Roxas in the amount of Fifty Thousand Pesos (P50,000.00) for the establishment of a Community Fishing Gear and Other Paraphernalia Store at Sitio Dalahican, Roxas, Oriental Mindoro;

WHEREAS, the proposed Community Fishing Gear and Other Paraphernalia Store is intended to provide the members of the association with accessible and reasonably priced fishing gear, equipment, and other necessary paraphernalia, thereby supporting their fishing activities and livelihood;

WHEREAS, the establishment of the said store is expected to provide a sustainable source of fishing-related supplies within the community and reduce the difficulty and expenses incurred by local fisherfolk in procuring their necessary fishing gear and paraphernalia;

WHEREAS, the grantee shall submit all necessary documentary requirements prior to the release and disbursement of the said financial assistance;

WHEREAS, pursuant to Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, the Municipal Mayor, as the Local Chief Executive, shall represent the Municipality in all its business transactions and sign contracts and such other obligations on its behalf, upon authority of the Sangguniang Bayan;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Christopher Y. Carvajal duly seconded by Councilor King Philip B. Dimapilis –

BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to authorize Hon. Jerwin S. Dimapilis, Municipal Mayor, to enter into and sign, for and on behalf of the Municipal Government of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Pangulong Fishworkers Association (PFA) for the grant of financial assistance amounting to Fifty Thousand Pesos (P50,000.00) intended for the establishment of a Community Fishing Gear and Other Paraphernalia Store at Sitio Dalahican, Roxas, Oriental Mindoro.

RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this resolution be furnished to the Office of the Municipal Mayor, Pangulong Fishworkers Association (PFA), Municipal Agriculturist’s Office, Municipal Accountant, Municipal Budget Office, and other concerned offices for their information and appropriate action.
