RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HON. JERWIN S. DIMAPILIS, MUNICIPAL MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AND SIGN A SUPPLEMENTAL MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WELFARE AND DEVELOPMENT (DSWD) FIELD OFFICE MIMAROPA FOR THE CONTINUED IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SUPPLEMENTARY FEEDING PROGRAM (SFP) FOR DAY CARE CHILDREN ENROLLED IN THE CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ROXAS, ORIENTAL MINDORO

WHEREAS, the national government, through the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), continues to implement the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) as part of the government’s contribution to the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) program;

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, is committed to addressing undernutrition and improving the health status of children enrolled in local Child Development Centers (CDCs);

WHEREAS, the initial implementation period requires an extension to maximize the nutritional impact on the beneficiaries, specifically adding sixty (60) days to the existing cycle to achieve a comprehensive total of one hundred eighty (180) days of feeding;

WHEREAS, the provision of hot meals for 180 days is aligned with the national standards for nutritional intervention for Day Care/Child Development Center learners to ensure they meet the required dietary allowance;

WHEREAS, Section 444 (b)(1)(vi) of Republic Act No. 7160, otherwise known as the Local Government Code of 1991, provides that the Municipal Mayor shall represent the municipality in all its business transactions and sign on its behalf all bonds, contracts, and obligations, and such other documents upon authority of the Sangguniang Bayan or pursuant to law or ordinance;

NOW, THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Christopher Y. Carvajal duly seconded by Councilor King Philip B. Dimapilis –

BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to authorize Hon. Jerwin S. Dimapilis, Municipal Mayor, to enter into and sign a Supplemental Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office MIMAROPA for the continued implementation of the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) for children enrolled in the Child Development Centers of the Municipality.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Office of the Municipal Mayor, DSWD Field Office MIMAROPA, the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), and other concerned offices for their information and appropriate action.
