RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING HON. JERWIN S. DIMAPILIS, MUNICIPAL MAYOR, TO ENTER INTO AND SIGN A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE TOURISM INFRASTRUCTURE AND ENTERPRISE ZONE AUTHORITY (TIEZA) FOR THE UNDERTAKING AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MANGROVE ECOTOURISM PARK DEVELOPMENT IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ROXAS, ORIENTAL MINDORO

WHEREAS, it is a declared policy of the State to promote a tourism industry that is ecologically sustainable, responsible, and participative, providing economic opportunities to local communities while preserving natural resources;

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, possesses significant ecological assets, particularly its mangrove forests, which hold immense potential for ecotourism development, environmental education, and coastal protection;

WHEREAS, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) is the agency mandated to designate, supervise, and regulate tourism enterprise zones and to develop and implement tourism infrastructure projects nationwide;

WHEREAS, the Mangrove Ecotourism Park Development project aims to enhance the local tourism landscape of Roxas, provide sustainable livelihoods for the residents, and ensure the long-term conservation of the municipality’s marine ecosystem;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Councilor Christopher Y. Carvajal duly seconded by all –

BE IT RESOLVED, to authorize as it hereby authorizes Hon. Jerwin S. Dimapilis, Municipal Mayor, to enter into and sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) for the undertaking and implementation of the Mangrove Ecotourism Park Development in Roxas, Oriental Mindoro.

RESOLVED FURTHER, that copies of this Resolution be furnished to the Office of the Municipal Mayor, the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), and other concerned offices for their information and appropriate action.
