RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE BUREAU OF INTERNAL REVENUE (BIR) TO UPDATE THE CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION (COR) OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF ROXAS, ORIENTAL MINDORO, REFLECTING THE CHANGE OF ITS TAX REGISTRATION STATUS FROM NON-VAT TO VAT

WHEREAS, the Municipality of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, is a local government unit existing under the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, currently registered with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as a Non-VAT taxpayer;

WHEREAS, recent assessments and developments in the Municipality’s economic activities, including increased revenue-generating operations and transactions, necessitate compliance with Value-Added Tax (VAT) requirements under the National Internal Revenue Code, as amended;

WHEREAS, updating the Municipality’s Certificate of Registration (COR) to reflect its VAT status will enable it to validly issue VAT official receipts, claim input taxes where applicable, and fulfill its obligations as a VAT-registered entity;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, on motion of Councilor Christopher Y. Carvajal duly seconded by Councilor King Philip B. Dimapilis –

BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, to request the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) to update the Certificate of Registration (COR) of the Municipality of Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, reflecting the change of its tax registration status from Non-VAT to VAT;

RESOLVED FURTHER, that the Municipal Mayor, through the Municipal Treasurer and other concerned offices, is hereby authorized to coordinate with the Bureau of Internal Revenue, prepare, sign, and submit all necessary forms and supporting documents, receive the updated Certificate of Registration, and perform all other acts necessary and incidental to effect the updating of the Municipality’s tax registration;

RESOLVED FINALLY, that copies of this Resolution be furnished to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and other concerned offices for their information and appropriate action.
